About the event

Learn how to do Junk Journaling with all materials provided. Our Junk Journaling involves using upcycled and natural materials to create a joyful mini collage of uplifting images and quotes. The artwork created in this class will be used as inspiration for our community artwork.

Classes are centred on finding enjoyment from nature and creating artwork, whilst developing skills, building confidence and connecting with the community. Learn more about using a journal for wellbeing in this fun and inspiring activity.

This afternoon class will follow our morning session creating Natural Dyes with locally sourced wool (please book onto this event seperately if you would like to attend both sessions). For participants taking part in both workshops, we would encourage you to bring a packed lunch (hot and cold drinks will be available).

Participants will be given the opportunity for their creations to be used within the "Vision of Stockport" community led artwork, a project celebrating the history, regeneration and natural beauty of Stockport. This workshop is an adults only class.

This is a partly outdoor event, please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. We also have an indoor space that we will be utilising, so the event will still be going ahead ahead should we experience less than ideal weather conditions.

The allotment is situated at the end of Webb Lane, next to the bowling green.

ACCESS GUIDE:

  • How to get there - The nearest bus station is approximately an 8 minute walk away on St Mary's Way.
  • Parking - On road parking is available immediately outside of the allotment entrance.
  • Gradients & steps - Due to the nature of the uneven ground at the allotment, some may not find the venue easily accessible. Seating is available on site.
  • Toilets - Available on site.
  • Assistance dogs - Water bowl will be available for assistance dogs upon request.
  • Specific needs - Please let us know of any specific needs when registering and we will do all we can to accomodate.

Further workshops will be taking place across Stockport aimed at all ages, so be sure to sign up to our mailing list to be notified of future community activities.

All materials are included free of charge, but if you would like to make an optional contribution to our Pay-It-Forward scheme to help benefit people who can't access the classes but could really benefit from our wellbeing workshops, it would be massively appreciated:

If you are coming with a friend, please book each participant separately so we can check you in individually.
