This walking workshop will offer the opportunity to explore:

- Suffragette Square

- Stockport Interchange & The Hat Works

- St Mary's Church

- Stockport Old Town & more

Participants will be invitied to give input into the direction and focus of the "Vision of Stockport" community led artwork, a project celebrating the history, regeneration and natural beauty of Stockport. This workshop is an adults only class.

This is an outdoor event and participants will be required to travel between the above mentioned central Stockport locations, therefore please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

ACCESS GUIDE:

  • How to get there - We will be meeting at Sufragette Square. Stockport train station is approximately a 9 minute walk away. The nearest bus station is approximately a 5 minute walk away on Exchange Street.
  • Parking - The NCP multi-storey car park can be found at Redrock Stockport SK1 1SA, and is fully accessible. There are multiple lifts available.
  • Gradients & steps - Due to the nature of the tour, participants will be required to travel between the above mentioned central Stockport locations. We will be using the lift at Stockport interchange to the large number of steps, however there may be some uneven ground and pavements along the route.

This workshop is aimed at adults. Further workshops will be taking place across Stockport aimed at all ages, so be sure to sign up to our mailing list to be notified of future community activities.

All materials are included free of charge, but if you would like to make an optional contribution to our Pay-It-Forward scheme to help benefit people who can't access the classes but could really benefit from our wellbeing workshops, it would be massively appreciated:
